Constraints
- Modular backend services supporting clinical-research operations and internal workflows.
- Integration work had to account for access control, operational continuity and maintainability.
- The work spanned application code, infrastructure and production support boundaries.
What I owned
- Developed backend microservices in Java, Node.js and Python.
- Implemented serverless application components on AWS Lambda.
- Contributed frontend work with Next.js, React and Vue.js where needed.
- Supported release pipelines and operational troubleshooting for deployed services.
Engineering decisions
- Serverless and event-oriented service patterns.
- Mixed-language backend work across Node.js, Python and Java/Spring Boot.
- Cloud-native delivery with Git-based collaboration and pipeline automation.
- Close collaboration with platform and support responsibilities.
Outcome
- Delivered backend and integration components that could move through the same controlled release and support paths as the surrounding platform.
- Reduced the boundary between application, cloud and operational work by treating them as one maintained production system.
